In a world where aesthetics are important, this article should be your absolute go to for any anxious, panic rummaging moment you have before stepping out.
Let's get into it.
The LBD aka The Little Black Dress is an old time favourite for any dress wearers out there. From the motion pictures of Sofia Loren and Audrey Hepburn to Iconic fashionistas like Rihanna and Lady Gaga, most ladies have one or more... (I have about 7 different styles, eek.) but whatever the cut, length or size they always save the day!
Dress up with an over-the-top selection of accessories and a pair of statement high heels or dress down with an oversized shirt and some comfy-ass trainers. However you want to wear it, the LBD is definitely the ride-or-die of all dresses and has got your back at all times... Literally through the sweat and tears except for when you get food on it, but really... That's on you sweetheart (no pun intended).
Ok, so you may just think I'm being a bit obvious now, but who on earth doesn't need a good pair of jeans?
Not only do I live in them and own more than a few pairs, but it makes any outfit comfortable! My jeans collection is a bit rebellious from massive gashes, to patterns and detailed embroidery. However, you can always call on a pair of simple, plain jeans.
Thankfully, the rotation of denim has taken stores by storm and 90s styled patch work, graffiti and flares are all coming back this season to really funk-up some of your social distance, celebratory pieces and show the people 'dem what they've been missing!
The Structural Blazer is an absolute must have. It's not quite a coat, not quite a cardigan, but it will bring a strong sense of masculinity and class to your outfit. Last year whilst attending an outdoor garden party I threw on my dusty pink, crape-silk blazer over a basic white tee, light blue ripped jeans and wore an extra chunky pair of white platform fila's to give me a bit of height.
I seriously suggest wearing a blazer in most social situation whether it's a LBB (little black blazer), or an extravagant sequined or patterned number, all eyes will be on you looking like an absolute don.
The basic white Tee is a much needed staple.
Not only does it sometimes save you when you just can't be bothered to dress yourself and somehow you end up looking pretty decent... But you can dress it up with absolutely anything and it will be a show stopper!
One of my best party outfits was an oversized men's T-shirt from Primark worn as a dress, with a pair of chrome knee high boots, and accessorised with layered statement necklaces. To really add some sass to the night, I threw on a cheeky mint faux fur number from Bershka to calm the chills of the January, winter breeze.
Nothing like a cheap and cheerful purchase for every-event use.
A good-ass Trench coat is always required and probably the most exciting thing to wear during Autumn/Winer (since it's the only thing usually on display). Camel, tartan, leather or any other colour and style will automatically works with your surroundings. Not only is it dead comfy, but it automatically makes you look cool AF.
Wear with any pair of shoes, any outfit... Look, even if your wore one outside with pyjamas it will still look dope as ever hunnie, you better slay!
The oversized shirt is probably one of the most underrated fashion staples of all time!
Thankfully, this s/s 2021 it's all about adding an oversized shirt to your wardrobe as the shops are flooded with so many different styles and shapes, you will definitely find the right one for you.
This slouchy throw on adds a slight 'je ne sais quoi' to any outfit and can practically be worn with anything. Sport it loosely like the model in the picture on the left to spark some sensuality and to also lengthen that lovely neck. Or if you want to be really formal, have the 'school pet' top button done to show off that powerful, well-organised side of yourself.
Can say I have all of these except the ripped jeans lmao
